Da Milano is an Indian brand founded in 1989 in New Delhi by the Pasricha family. The principal idea behind it was to introduce the classy Italian leather look to India, but keep the prices fairly practical for Indian buyers. That worked super well for them.
Da Milano was initially a leather export business; everything changed when Sahil Malik, the second generation of the family, entered the picture in 2000. Armed with a background in fashion and marketing, he reshaped the business into a retail chain for premium accessories from the get-go. Their first store opened in New Delhi’s Connaught Place, and today (2025), the brand stands with 80 stores across India and an excellent presence at airports in the country.
Alongside expanding internationally, Da Milano looked at the markets in Southeast Asia and the UK with new stores in Dubai, Bahrain, Nepal, and the UAE. In 2010, the brand launched a footwear brand named Rosso Brunello, and then in 2025, it was awarded as the “Best Fashion Accessories Retailer.” This growth shows how far the brand has come since its inception.
Is Da Milano Really a Luxury Brand?
Da Milano certainly checks many boxes of a luxury label: dedicated to premium leather, with great attention to detail, stylish designs, and thoughtful customer care. It is, however, not up there with luxury houses that trade largely in the extreme exclusivity and astronomical price points.
In this case, Da Milano sits in the so-called “bridge luxury” position. Straddling the mass market and the ultra-luxury level, it stands for medium-priced options for quality and style.
