At this point in time, Sonu Sood remains the face of the Punjab Government’s Covid-19 vaccination awareness campaign. Why Sonu Sood Was Chosen

Right after he got the appointment, he was the leader of the Mission Fateh 2.0 outreach program, which was targeted at promoting vaccination in the villages and lowering vaccine hesitancy. Moreover, he asked for more vaccine doses for Punjab while that was going on.
Note: The Election Commission took back the “state icon” status of Sonu Sood, which was specifically from the elections perspective, but it was not related to the vaccine campaign, his role in the vaccine campaign, January 2022.
